HAIR PH LEVEL AND PRE-WASH REQUIREMENTS
To achieve optimal results, the hair must be clean.
Our products use gel-based nanotechnology to facilitate penetration into the hair cuticle. This means that washing the hair with a deep-cleansing shampoo is not required. The active ingredients are transformed into nanoparticles — a structure that allows them to penetrate more easily from the outer layers of the hair into the deeper ones. DETOX HAIR DETOXIFICATION AND VOLUME REDUCTION by ACQUACÔCO has an acidic pH level, which is lower than what is recommended for direct contact with the scalp. Therefore, we advise avoiding excessive application directly onto the scalp to prevent redness or itching, especially in individuals with increased sensitivity.
Although the product is safe and does not break the hair or pose any health risk, and it does not cause damage or burning upon contact with the scalp, it is important to maintain a distance of 0.5 cm from the roots during application.
STRAIGHTENING TEMPERATURE FOR DRY AND DAMAGED HAIR
Application of products that modify hair structure through the use of the activation term, need special care with the ends, where its structure already has natural cuticles loss and it may present risk of losing even more with the straightener’s friction in high temperature, exposing the hair cortex. We suggest the professional to evaluate the resistance and the ends moisturizing level and establish a number of times he/she straightens so there is no loss during treatment, we advise that in case of dry ends the straightener’s friction should be only from 6 to 8, or yet 4 to 6 if the hair already received chemical treatment before.
Be also aware of the straightener’s temperature. In Brazil we use Celsius scale, therefore we must know how many degrees in Celsius corresponds to 450°F (Fahrenheit), by calculating we find out that the spectacular, amazing and innovating 450° (several brands do not put the F for Fahrenheit) that many professionals are deifying and afraid because it can even burn your hair because of how hot it can get, which it is up to 230°C. We recommend 180°C (180 degrees Celsius = 356 degrees Fahrenheit) for thinner or more fragile hair and up to 230°C (230 degrees Celsius = 446 degrees Fahrenheit) for more resistant hair.
PRODUCT INCOMPATIBILITY
ACQUACÔCO works with a blend of amino acids and acids combined with properties from the green coconut, an innovating and high technology raw material for straightening. It acts expanding the dimer (disorganizing) with a particularity of keeping hair elasticity by making them straight with natural look.
It can be applied over all chemical processes available on the market, including straightening and relaxation with guanidine or sodium hydroxide, ammonium thioglycolate, ethanolamine, regular perm, afro perm, bleaching or highlights with peroxide, perm colors, semi-perm colors or hair tone products.
THERE ARE NO RESTRICTIONS about applying the product again or applying over with other chemicals, ALWAYS RESPECTING THE STRANDS TEST, following particularities from respective companies.
Hair with excessive porosity and breakage history must pay closer attention and receive an ACQUACÔCO DETOX treatment with a straightener at minimum temperature or with a brush.
Hair with highlights and colored hair that might be damaged and/or disrupted, may receive the ACQUACÔCO DETOX treatment stabilizing the pH before mechanical action from the brush or from the straightener, in other words, after removing all ACQUACÔCO DETOX HAIR DETOXIFICATION, THERAPY AND SMOOTHING, apply ACQUACÔCO BALSAM RECONSTRUCTING and leave it for 3 to 10 minutes and continue the procedure.
WHY DOES HAIR COLOR CHANGE IN SOME CASES?
Every acid product causes degradation reactions on amino acids that form the keratin (hair protein).
When the tryptophan, cystine and methionine suffer degradation, you see yellowish color appear, which is proportional to the degradation (tyrosine gets exposed on blond hair).
Someone who has bleached or dyed hair already has oxidation spots (due to hydrogen peroxide from bleaching and dying products).
Therefore, the degradation degree of amino acids is way higher on them than on someone who hasn't bleached or dyed hair.
To avoid any unpleasant surprises, always follow correctly the instructions about the straightener's temperature.
It is important to remember that a strand of hair has an 85% structure consisting of a type of protein called keratin, which contains 19 amino acids.
CAN HAIR BE COLORED OR HIGHLIGHTED ON THE SAME DAY AS THE TREATMENT?
According to the trichology, it does not perform two procedures at the same time on hair shaft, although we know that is the case in most salons. As is common and practically inevitable, it is very important to let you know that every time pigments are removed (bleaching), the ACQUACÔCO DETOX HAIR DETOXIFICATION, THERAPY AND SMOOTHING must be performed after and for pigments deposits, color change, lightening, evening the tone, it must be performed before.
WHICH PRODUCTS CAN BE USED TO COMPLETE THE TREATMENT?
After application of DETOX HAIR DETOXIFICATION, THERAPY AND SMOOTHING, it may be used any finalizing products as usual.
WHEN CAN I WASH MY HAIR AFTER THE TREATMENT?
Hair can be washed right after the end of the procedure without causing any difference in the result of the product.
HOW LONG DOES THE STRAIGHTENING EFFECT LAST?
We can say that the ACQUACÔCO DETOX HAIR DETOXIFICATION, THERAPY AND SMOOTHING is semidefinite brush. They can last around 3 to 5 months (depends on the home care treatment used), being necessary to re-apply in the root.
WHY DOES HAIR SOMETIMES NOT STRAIGHTEN 100% AFTER THE FIRST APPLICATION?
It is indispensable to follow correctly step-by-step of the product, perform training to learn techniques for a greater efficiency of the product, BE ALWAYS AWARE OF THE CORRECT STRAIGHTENER'S TEMPERATURE.
HOW MUCH PRODUCT SHOULD BE APPLIED?
The amount of product varies a lot from hair to hair. It is not necessary to "soak" it in the product to obtain 100% straight, you just need to brush next to the root and pull the ends with a fine-toothed comb, applying evenly the product and avoiding wastes.
HAIR MAINTENANCE KITS
Around 90% of our hair consists of keratin, a protein that contains 19 amino acids in its structure. In other words, keratin and amino acids are the foundation of any hair. However, there are the other 10%, which are equally important, and from these 10%, 8% of water, lipids, glycogen and glutamic acid, while the other 2% are several minerals.
Many people think they only need to treat their hair if they put any chemicals, and that is not right, because hair loses nutrients day-to-day due to mechanical processes (brush, straightener, etc.), sun, wind, climate change, sea and pool baths exposure and many other factors.
